Kirby
Handsome, young Kirby came into the care of BHRG after being picked up as a stray. He has been adopted out twice and returned twice. Unfortunately, what we first believed to be high energy with no outlet was later discovered to be high energy combined with resource guarding and insecurity. Kirby has since spent a month at bootcamp with an incredible trainer, and is now thriving in his foster home. His insecurities and lack of impulse control have been replaced with responding appropriately to cues from his foster human. He still has energy for days, but he is much more relaxed knowing his foster human is in control and enforcing loving boundaries. At his core, he is a true love and will gladly give so much love in return for feeling secure with his humans.

Ollie
Ollie is a tri-colored fellow who is around 7 years old. He was adopted previously but found himself homeless when his new owner developed health issues. Ollie needs a secure yard - preferably with a privacy fence as he is known to climb chain link fences. Beautiful but complicated Ollie is a one (wo)man show, as he is fiercely protective of his singular human and simply will not tolerate anyone or anything coming near them. He completed almost 6 weeks of bootcamp, but he still insists his limit is ONE. He requires a muzzle to go out in public (to the vet) and in the yard, unless you don't mind a poop eater. He plays well with other canines as long they stay away from his water and food bowls and don't interrupt his time with his human. He is perfectly content with the routine at his foster's home, but he might be willing to interview another forever human that will honor his stringent demands.

Thurston Howl
Thurston is a red and white boy who is around 6 years old. Here's what he has to say! "Hello! I'm Thurston Howl or TH to my friends. I am a young hound with lots of energy and a love of playtime. Fetching a ball and chasing toys around the house are among my favorite games. I also need a walk each day for my exercise. I can live with another dog but need a strong dog that can put me in my place. Otherwise, I can play a bit too rough, and I don't mean to be a bully. I can be a bit of a moody dog and do not like to be bothered when I am resting or sleeping. I do have a loud houndy bark that I use to show my displeasure with things that are not going my way or that are scary to me. I can also be over reactive to things that are not going my way. Every morning I get eye drops that I take for dry eye and will take for the rest of my life. If you think I would be perfect for you, let's set up a play date to meet in person."

Turner
Turner has visited a BHRG vet for a complete check up and is ready for adoption. He's a tri-colored boy who is around 5 1/2 years old and gets along with kids and other dogs. He rides well in a car, and enjoys walks although he does pull a bit on the leash. Turner is sweet and loving, but he can be a stinker at times and get into things that he shouldn't. Ziplock bags fascinate him, and he will get anything within reach like a loaf of bread, etc. But you can't get mad at him because he is so sweet. He is a good sleeper during the day, and he sleeps in his crate at night. Turner is dealing with skin allergies and is eating special food and taking medication. He will most likely always have skin/allergy issues, but the vet is helping him be as comfortable as possible. Turner is dog door trained and crate trained. Adoption pending!

Wally
Young Wally is a red & white boy who came into the care of BHRG after being picked up as a stray. He is estimated to be approximately 2 years old but is still full of puppy energy. His foster mom says he is a diamond in the rough, as he is going full throttle with his basset foster sister or conked out and napping in his foster mom's lap. His senior foster brother is NOT a fan, but Wally does his best to be respectful. He is working diligently on becoming fully house trained and is looking for a forever home with another playful canine companion. He has visited a BHRG vet and is now waiting patiently for his forever home.
