Fellow Basset Hound Lover:

My goal today is to tune you into Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia and to encourage you to join me and many others in becoming a member of this fine rescue organization during our membership campaign for 2008.

As many of you know, Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to saving abandoned and mistreated basset hounds for the love of the breed. This rescue effort began in 1991 and, since that time, we have rescued 2,100 basset hounds!

Many of the bassets taken in by BHRG are from pounds, shelters or puppy mills. Some are strays whose owners cannot be found. Some are relinquished by owners who no longer want them. The number of homeless hounds needing help from our organization is constantly increasing. Changing lifestyles, the economy, and lack of responsibility are just some of the reasons for the many homeless hounds.

BHRG takes these hounds into foster care, where they can be loved and cared for in a home environment until a permanent, adoptive home can be found. Many of you have fostered or adopted from BHRG and know the satisfaction that comes from finding a “forever” home for one of our fostered hounds.

BHRG provides all veterinary care, including vaccinations, heartworm tests and treatment (when needed), deworming, and spaying or neutering. Because the cost for proper medical treatment continues to rise, more than ever we need your help to continue the mission for this organization. BHRG has never turned away a homeless hound. We want to ensure the future and be able to continue as we have done in the past.

All monies raised by BHRG, whether from adoption fees, memorial donations or fund raisers are all used for the bassets. BHRG is ALL VOLUNTEER and has no paid staff. We believe that the best use of funds raised is to help this wonderful breed.

These are just a few of the reasons I have decided to join BHRG and I invite YOU to become a member of this fine organization during this membership initiative. The one-year membership donation is $50 and all monies will benefit the hounds.

| There are also “MEMBERS ONLY” incentives that are available to you as one of our new members.
On the reverse is a list of membership benefits and a membership application so that you can join BHRG and become an active part of this wonderful rescue effort to save these very special hounds. I look forward to welcoming you as a member of this fine-tuned organization. Your membership is vital to our success! |
