Bernard

Bernard is a very sweet 8-year-old fellow who was found as a stray in south Georgia. This tri-colored gentleman had some lumps and bumps removed and has now completed treatment for heartworm. Bernard is healthy now and up-to-date on his shots. He's getting settled in foster care, so we hope to have more details soon.

Chops

Chops needs a foster home! This tri-colored boy is 7ish years old and was given up by his owners. He likes to howl if he hears noises and loves stuffed animal toys. He gets along with other dogs, has been around big dogs but we're not sure how he behaves with cats. Chops likes men, women and kids of all ages. He's a good boy and is very trainable. He's not crate-trained but we were told he could be crate trained easily. He has visited a BHRG vet for shots and a check up and now he's waiting for a foster home at a local kennel.

Chops's Sponsors

  • Andy Bennett - Smyrna, GA. In honor of BHRG's previous adopters.
  • Danica Walker - Atlanta, GA. In honor of Jo.

Edison

Edison is approximately 6-7 years old and is red & white. His previous owner reported that he is good with other dogs, cats and even farm animals! Edison behaves well with older kids but does not like small children. He is housebroken, dog door savvy, and crate trained. He has been checked out by a BHRG vet, and is getting settled in his foster home. Our transport volunteer said that he is very sweet, did well in the car, but is a bit camera shy. He was turned in to BHRG after his owner passed away and the family member who took him in could no longer care for him because he didn't like her younger child.

Edison's Sponsors

  • Susan, Hamp, Libby & Maribee Thornton - Plano, TX. In memory of Albert, Maggie, Hogan and Trudy (BHRG), who are all now playing together at the Rainbow Bridge.
  • "The Five" Hank, Joshua, Nessie, Gideon & Lyla Miller - Atlanta, GA. In memory of beloved Basil, Columbo, & Ellwood.
You can also sponsor a Basset Hound in need through our Georgia Peach program.

Jackson

Jackson is a beautiful black, white, and tan tri-color gentleman who was surrendered by his family when they could not afford vet care. Jackson was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor in his belly and melanoma in his mouth, and has had surgery for both. Although there is a chance for the tumors to return, Jackson has never acted sick since we have had him! Jackson is an easy going, big, derpy goofball who is very laid back, and generally likes to do his own thing. He will come to you for attention occasionally, and if you lay down in the floor with him, he will lay his big head into your chest and groan for loves. He stays in his crate at night, and knows "Get in your house!", although, he doesn't always like going. Once he is there, he stays quietly all night. He loves meal times and does the cutest happy dance and bark. Jackson would be a great dog for a family with older kids who could respect his space, and love him when he wants it. He is a great boy!

Jackson's Sponsors
