[dot] Welcome to Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia's Home Page! [dot]

Bassets Rescued since 1992: 2,538   Bassets Rescued in 2010: 76

[dot]Congratulations! Buttons, Kyrie, Mercy, Randy, Stevie, Strider, Xander found their forever homes this week.

[dot]HELP! We are now boarding 30 bassets at kennels and vet's offices. We need foster homes now! Not only are our funds being drained paying for boarding, our bassets deserve to live in foster homes where they can be loved and have their temperaments evaluated. First-timers, please check out this info about fostering and complete the fostering application there. Returning fosters, please e-mail our Foster Coordinator at fostercoordinator@bhrg.org. Now is the time! Georgia's homeless bassets need you!

[dot]Make a tax-deductible donation using the following PayPal button. Your company may have a matching gift program so you can make your BHRG donation go twice as far!

[pups]Polly's in a pickle about what to name her pups. But thanks to your votes, we now have the winning puppy names! Sadly, two of the male pups have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, so only one male pup remains, Orville - entered by Halle & Jake Finkelstein from Durham, NC. The winning female pup names are Tansy - entered by Katherine Muhlenkamp from Chicago, IL. and Lulu & Lily - entered by Melissa Legg from Alpharetta, GA. Thanks to all who entered, voted, and supported our contest. To see all of the results, click here!

How Can You Help?

The Animals' Savior
Copyright Jim Willis 1999

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.
"I created You."
