Puppies! These five pups were whelped (born) and raised in the woods. We think they were whelped in mid to late May. A family took in an adult male and adult female basset with the five puppies, but obviously, the male is not the daddy. Their mama was a basset hound, but we have no idea who the sneaky daddy is. We speculate he may have been a black and tan dachshund.
The puppies are being treated for worms and mange in their foster homes, and they should be ready for adoption around August 8th when they are healthy. As their personalities emerge, we will post more details. Get your application in quickly if you want to adopt! Meet the puppies!
Two of BHRG's 2014 adoptees are being PAWtnered! What is a PAWtnership? It's a celebration of the love between two hounds as well as their love for Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia, the group that saved them. Join in the love and celebrate with us this summer. Nora Anne and Wayne will have engagement pawties and showers and you are all invited. No tickets to buy but registrations are required. The actual PAWtnership celebration and pet blessing will take place at the Basset Bash on October 24, 2015.
Wayne and Nora Anne do not want gifts for themselves. They have everything they could possibly want. They are requesting that their friends and family support the work that BHRG does for homeless basset hounds across the State of Georgia. You can view their PAWtnership registry.

The Animals' Savior
Copyright Jim Willis 1999
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.
"I created You."
